Altrini Events. Priced in the open.

Everything gathered on building a price-transparent events catalogue — market benchmarks, a verified social audit, six buyer personas, the competitor landscape at home and abroad, a service blueprint, conversion-tech verdicts and the 90-day plan. All prices KES unless noted.

The verdict

Price transparency is the product. Proposals are the wedge.

“Design-led setups, photographed like a premium decorator, priced like a rental company, bookable like an e-commerce store.”

Nairobi's websites already publish prices — Sherehe, Amazing Parties and Events & Party Rentals all list item rates. But nobody puts the price on the video, where discovery actually happens. South Africa proves the format works in an African market; no Nairobi account owns it yet.

The wedge writes itself. High emotion, small scope, flat-priceable, decided by one person, alone, at night, on his phone. Lead with priced proposal packages, expand to birthdays and showers, then take the committee-driven ruracio and wedding prize as the catalogue and review moat mature.

78% of couples rank pricing the number-one vendor-selection factor; displaying rates lifts response ~25% (WeddingPro). Kenya has a documented public backlash against “DM for price”. Honest KES prices are simultaneously UX, marketing and trust-building.

Correction to the strategy doc · §3.3 The earlier research found “effectively zero discoverable presence”. Direct verification found live accounts — IG @altrini_events (168 followers; story highlights already form a proto-catalogue: Proposal, Drinks, Birthday, Gifting, Valentines, Xmas) and TikTok @altrinievents (519 followers, 20.9K likes, phone in bio). The two bios disagree on what the business is (“Event Decor” vs “Event planner”), there is no link-in-bio, no website, no Google Business Profile and no ruracio content at all. The blank slate is search, not social.
