Local and global players, and the gap between them.

Website price transparency is solved in Nairobi. The gap is on social, where discovery happens: prices never make it onto the video. Follower counts from search snippets — approximate.

The ruracio hashtag ecosystem (#ruraciodecor · #ruraciosetup · #nyombo · #ntheo) is led by an account at only ≈5.4K — beatable. Global reference points: Bubblegum Balloons (UK) ≈203K · Something Borrowed Blooms (US) ≈78K · Lushra (US) ≈70K.

Where the transparency gap actually is.

  • Websites: solved. Sherehe, Amazing Parties (400+ items, 127 Google reviews, a published delivery formula) and Events & Party Rentals all publish item-level rates. Even boutique Lucidity publishes package tiers — Dove 299–399k through Peahen 699–799k.
  • Social: wide open. TikTok captions say “affordable packages, DM us” — the price lives two clicks away on a site the viewer never visits. Nobody in Nairobi owns price-on-the-video.
  • Proof it works — South African decorators normalised price-list videos (“picnic from R500 + R15/km delivery”); “Decor Price List Package” is a TikTok discover topic there.
  • Second-order gap — nobody prices proposals publicly. Altrini's existing strength.
  • Diaspora angle — Antique Events targets #kenyansinqatar and #kenyansingulf; relatives abroad paying for events at home are the most transparency-hungry segment, since they cannot attend a site visit.
  • Social-proof gap — reviews live on Google and websites, never repackaged as content. Nobody runs client-reaction or review-screenshot reels.
